What can I say about my Uncle Clint…

One of my earliest memories of him is from when I was three. He made me eat beans—beans I absolutely hated—and told me I couldn’t leave the table or have a Girl Guide cookie until I finished them. In the end, I choked them down and got my cookie. Even though I still hate beans to this day, it’s one of my favourite childhood memories.

There are so many moments that come to mind: Christmases in Kitchener, family dinners, camping, and even getting the chance to work at M&M. Uncle Clint would always joke that if he heard “Who Let the Dogs Out” one more time, he was going to break the radio. Every time I hear that song now, I can still hear him yelling about it—and it always makes me smile.

I’ll miss you, Uncle Clint.

Little did I know that when I came up to the campgrounds at Grand Beach ,over 60 years ago, saw these two Weston Wild Cat Football players, eating chicken noodle soup sandwiches that one would be my future husband and the other a very best friend.

Clint was truly an amazing person, right to the end, he did suffer, but didn't dwell on his illnesses and struggles. He was always up for a good game and a good conversation.

He was a very successful businessman, along with being a proud husband to Louise, proud of Graeme and Lani, their partners, and so very proud of the grandkids and their accomplishments.

He was always willing to share his knowledge and advice and for this I am grateful. I have many fond memories of our treasured friendship with the with the Acheson family. We will miss you my friend.

I remember the first time I met Uncle Clint. I was 5-7 Yrs old and he came out to BC with his first wife Angie. I heard his voice and to me he sounded just like his father Grandpa Acheson. But over time I learned he wasn't anything like him. Uncle Clint was full of personality- always in for a good time or a joke. Even with Auntie Louise's warning I gave him my e-mail address and had to change it because I couldn't keep up with the political & old age jokes/ mind twister challenges. Min 12 a day. Fun was in Uncle Clint's DNA. Always sincerely interested in what was going on in your life and if you happened to get on the phone with him, it was a min of an hr. I can't imagine the void he leaves for his immediate family and my hea…

I have so many good and fond memories of Clint.  Sean and I travelled to Winnipeg from Kamloops every two years after we got married in 1979. Our kids were able to grow up together. Sean and I travelled to Dallas Texas and met up with Clint and Louise and travelled to Corpus Christy and several other spots in Texas.  We also cruised to Hawaii in 2008 with Clint and Louise and 8 to 10 other family and friends unforgettable trip. One trip back to Winnipeg Sean and I Stayed in Regina overnight and on leaving the next morning we were driving fairly fast which was usual for Sean and ended up getting a speeding ticket in Moosomin, Saskatchewan. The RCMP officer said we were the second car from BC that he had ticketed that morning.  Sean asked if the other driver was Mel Ost from Campbell River and he…
